Help underprivileged receive books by playing trivia!

One of the most important things in a child’s life in my opinion is reading and being read to. My little man has been lucky enough to own tons of books throughout his life. I am ALWAYS picking him up a book whenever I am shopping. I am an avid reader and I plan on passing that down to my little man!

It is so sad to me to think about the fact that there are millions of underprivileged children that do not own ANY age appropriate books! Recent studies have shown that in middle income home the ratio of books per child are 13 to 1. In low income neighborhoods those ratios can be as sad as 1 book for every 300 children! I honestly cannot even fathom that thought!

Cheerios is trying to change that! They have this awesome contest that you test your knowledge of popular children’s books and for every trivia question you get right you receive a vote for a state. The 5 states that get the most votes receive 10,000 books each to help underprivileged kids!

Please, please visit First Book and test your knowledge of childrens books and cast votes for the state of your choice. I know I did, and plan to do more tonight!! Florida is number 12 so I better get to playing!!

Disclaimer: I received a Barnes and Noble Card, a box of Cheerios and several children’s books for this review from Cheerios through MyBlogSpark, but this TRULY is something that I believe in strongly!

When I played and checked, Florida is down to #13... I hope I didn't put them there. I didn't recognize a LOT of theose books, what happened to the classics? I am getting WAY too old!
